Never Picture Perfect

Hurry, Tomorrow
by Susan E. Ward

Hurry, Tomorrow,
Better than today.
Today is just a stepping stone
To take along the way.

Hurry, Tomorrow,
My childhood seems so long.
Tomorrow brings my teenage years
When I’ll be big and strong.

Hurry, Tomorrow,
Will school years never pass?
Then I’ll be free to chart my course
And not tied down in class.

Hurry, Tomorrow,
I still find myself to say.
Tomorrow brings an end to diapers, teething,
And this hectic life’s dismay.

Hurry, Tomorrow,---
NO, slow down and grasp today.
The love and joy that we have now,
Don’t wish it all away.
